As a young Ghanaian kid who grew up in the South East part of Amsterdam, life came with challenges. He found his remedy with mutuals and strength in everything that inspired him. In a neighborhood where authenticity is an important factor, Benjamin ‘Bnnyhunna’ Ankomah discovered the ultimate way to express himself; through music. In church, he learns to play different instruments.
After developing a deep rooted passion for music, Bnnyhunna initially emerged touring and producing for the likes of Jose James, Rimon & Hare Squead. Having established himself as a musician and embarking on numerous musical adventures, he was eager to share his very own message. With the unorthodox fourtracker ‘SINTHA’ things grew fast; selling out his first headliner with Kokoroko as surprise act and playing on big festivals. Currently he is busy with his sophomore project, which will be part of his international breakthrough and rolls out later. He will play at international showcases and keeps on investing in building his community.
Bnnyhunna brings new perspectives in the contemporary status quo to improve the ‘regular’ experience of music. He aims to stimulate all senses of his audience and find new spaces in art. His ultimate goal is to create an inclusive and inspiring community to share his values and worldview.
The music lives in a wide soundscape, influenced by genres like hip-hop, soul, jazz & afro and legends like Fela Kuti, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams & John Coltrane.
