Laura Mvula is terug met nieuwe muziek
Laura Mvula is na vijf jaar stilte terug met nieuwe muziek. De Ivor Novello-winnaar en Mercury Prize en BRIT Award-genomineerde Mvula tekende afgelopen maand bij Atlantic Records en brengt op 2 juli haar nieuwe album Pink Noise uit. Vanaf vandaag is Laura’s nieuwste single ‘Church Girl’ overal te beluisteren.
Mvula is een nieuwe muzikale weg ingeslagen die is geïnspireerd op eighties synth pop. Onlangs deelde ze haar eerste nieuwe single ‘Safe Passage’. De bijbehorende videoclip werd opgenomen tijdens haar eenmalige livestream Under A Pink Moon – Laura’s eerste concert in drie jaar.

OVER LAURA MVULA
Laura Mvula groeit op in een gezin met Caraïbische roots in een buitenwijk van Burmingham. De kerk en muziek spelen een belangrijke rol in hun leven en ze begint haar muzikale carrière in het gospelkoor van haar tante. Ze studeert af aan het conservatorium en na het talloze keren haar demo’s verstuurd te hebben, lukt het haar om een plantencontract binnen te slepen. Ze speelt zichzelf in de kijker met de EP ‘She’ en haar debuutalbum ‘Sing To The Moon’. Drie jaar later verschijnt het album ‘The Dreaming Room’.
