.. SKANSAS CITY/ MILKY CLEAR VINYL/ RSD 2019
1 x LP
In New York City a ska scene evolved in
parallel with the UK’s Two-Tone movement.
NYC band The Terrorists discovered the
legendary Skatalites founder Roland
Alphonso living in Brooklyn. They played
the Max’s Kansas City club with him in
1979, leading the club’s Peter Crowley to
book them recording sessions for the club’s
record label. They were followed by San
Franciscan band The Offs who’d already
paved the way for ska-punk with singles in
1978. Due to financial strains the releases
were cancelled – only two 7” singles,
from The Offs and The Terrorists were ever
released. At last, now you can discover
these long-lost 1980 recordings.
